The sports minister congratulates the Super Eagles on their victory over Sao Tome

Sen. John Owan-Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, hailed the Super Eagles on their convincing win against So Tomé and Principe on Sunday in Uyo

The Super Eagles defeated their opponents 6-0, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), to successfully complete the AFCON 2023 qualification series.

Speaking on the outcome of the game, Owan-Enoh praised the squad for giving a strong performance in return for the Nigerian people's support.

Next year, he challenged the group to take home the AFCON trophy.

"While this graciously concludes our qualifying, I want to challenge the squad to battle all odds in Ivory Coast the next year.

In order to guarantee that the squad was well-prepared in its pursuit of the trophy, he said the ministry will labor around the clock.
