NBA demands action against DSS and NCoS officers following altercation at Lagos Court

 The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has condemned the altercation between the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Correctional Service at a Lagos High Court on Tuesday over who to take custody of the embattled ex-governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, the President of NBA, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Maikyau, the episode is proof that Nigerian service agencies lack professionalism, discipline, and coordination.

He urged the DSS and NCoS to take prompt action to discipline the errant personnel.

In order to assure professionalism

and coordination, he continued, Nigeria's security institutions require a total revamp. 

"The NBA requests that the two organizations take swift disciplinary action against the officers responsible for this reprehensible behavior. In order to establish professionalism and assure harmony, there is also an urgent need for a full makeover of the institutions and a total reorientation of the personel, he added.
